….an unforgettable time.

(1989-2004)-Built as a satellite to the Burbank Studio and set in the backlot of the then new Disney/MGM studios, Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida opened its doors for business on May 1, 1989. Originally, the sole purpose of the studio was to produce shorts and provide the new theme park with an animation attraction for the Disney guests. Besides creating several animated shorts (including two Roger Rabbit shorts- Roller Coaster Rabbit and Trail-Mix-Up), it also produced three full-length features on its own: Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear in its fifteen years of existence. In addition to that it was responsible for major portions of most of the Disney Animated films of that period including: Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, etc. Without a doubt the Florida Studio was home to some of the best talent in the industry. However, what I miss the most about the place are the great people I worked with and the great friends that I made over the 14 years I had the privilege to work there.
